We just finished our second successful week at the garage with a visit by some of our own alumni, Dave Coccarelli and Mike Spohn of GE Healthcare. They came by to give us a talk about internship and full-time opportunities with General Electric, especially regarding the highly acclaimed Edison program. They definitely had a full crowd of eager underclassmen!

Last weekend, we had our first meeting of the year, and started it off with our annual beginning barbeque. We grilled hotdogs and hamburgers, and had plenty of chips and drinks to share. While everyone was happy eating, we introduced our new team leaders and showed off our Top 5 American FSAE competition car, "Don't Worry About It," or D-WAIT. All of the new freshmen and sophomores enjoyed themselves and it was overall a successful Saturday!

So far at the garage, we've been working hard to get the frame jig assembled and introducing all of our new members to the garage and all of the work that we do on a weekly basis. This Tuesday, September 11th at 3:00 P.M., we will be having Bharat Arora, an alum who graduated last year and is now working for Stryker, stop by the garage to see how we're doing and to talk to all of us about the internship and full-time opportunities that Stryker offers. We've been very fortunate to have a great relationship with our alumni and have the networking opportunities we've been given to talk about many different companies.
In other news, the Duke Motorsports display in Hudson hall has been updated with brand new pictures, so make sure to swing by and see some of the great pics we took at competition!

We should be posting our new designs for this year's competition car in the next few weeks, and we'll be sure to post our progress as we chip away at building the new car!
